When Mark first contacted me, he really wanted Lynn’s reaction to his proposal photographed. He had chosen the location, the Canadian-American boarder on the Niagara Falls rainbow bridge. The location was meant to symbolise their home countries being joined together by marriage. I have to admit I was giddy over photographing their engagement. “Why doesn’t everyone do this?” I exclaimed to my husband. Because honestly, I would give anything to have photographs of the moment my husband proposed to me.
Together we planned extensively over the weeks leading up to the proposal. Even in the moments before, text messaging each other to make sure we were all in the right position. The results were pretty magical! While posed portraits are beautiful in their own right there is nothing more precious than documenting real moments and emotions for people who are about to start their lives together.
