Buffalo Wedding Beauty Tips
At the start of every wedding season I get a lot of emails from my brides asking for tips to looking their best on their wedding day. In order to give the best advice possible, I decided to sit down with someone whose business is beauty. I reached out to Gina from Capello’s downtown salon, who has been a hairstylist and makeup artist at Capellos for nearly 7 years. Her summer weekends are filled with brides and bridal parties. Gina was kind enough to take a break from her busy work week to answer some of my questions and share her knowledge with readers!
TOP BEAUTY TIPS FOR BRIDES
-
Make sure you find a makeup artist who knows how to apply makeup for photography. Contouring and filling in your eyebrows makes a HUGE difference in how you look in your photos!
-
Make sure you schedule your facial at least 1 week before your wedding. If your getting extractions then schedule 2-3 weeks out.
-
Natural looking makeup is always gorgeous! You want to look like yourself for your wedding day.
-
If you want to go more dramatic with your makeup, choose either dramatic lips or dramatic eyes, not both.
-
Photographs wash you out terribly! Don’t be shocked at how much makeup you have on. I promise it will look perfect in you photos 🙂
-
Schedule a trial run for makeup and your up-do and know what your comfortable with. So many brides feel like they should wear an up-do but aren’t comfortable in day to day life with their hair pulled back. If you don’t like your hair pulled back consider wearing it down.
-
If your hair thickness is thin – medium, invest in clip extensions. This is especially important for girls who wear their hair down. In most of the images you see on Pinterest, the girls either have ridiculously thick hair or extensions in.
-
Remember to take a picture of your makeup and up-do. These professionals see so many brides that it’s hard for them to remember what they did 3 months ago.
-
Consider getting a gel manicure and pedicure 2 days before. They wont chip or smudge, and you will have perfectly manicured fingers and toes for your honeymoon!
-
Use waterproof makeup and a setting spray!
-
Purchase the lipstick, liner, and gloss that you’re going to use for your big day. That way you can re-apply all day long!
